Welcome to the Sensory Nutrition Blog Site!
Welcome to Sensory Nutrition–please come in and enjoy the site.
The site was developed to share general food and nutrition related information. The primary author grew up in an Italian American family and Italians are passionate about life! Every aspect of life is important to them⏤living, loving, spirituality, family, food, and all things cultural.
Although the qualified dietitian-nutritionist primary author may not be teaching in a college classroom or lab/test kitchen or in an adult education commercial kitchen at this time, that doesn’t mean you can’t read her latest blog entries now inspired by the remodeled home kitchen she currently uses. Hopefully some of her jottings will inspire you to expand your food and nutrition related horizons.
The doors here at Sensory Nutrition are usually open 24/7 (thanks to our talented webmaster), so come in and visit with us when YOUR schedule allows.
Any of us here would love to share some secrets and passion for preparing nutritious and delicious meals for small or large families and friends that work in this fast-paced, 21st-century lifestyle. From time to time professional colleagues might be invited as guest authors to stop by and through one or more Guest Blog(s) share their expertise with you, too!
Make time to enjoy life and enjoy real food to “Fuel your lifestyle ~ Delight your senses” …Come join us and find your own recipe for living a passionate life!
Qualified Dietitian-Nutritionist Professional Background
Sensory Nutrition was developed by an American Heart Association award-winning nationally qualified Registered Dietitian (RD)/ Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) who has lived in some six different states. She has held either an active or inactive state specific dietetic credential depending upon state particulars such as a Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) or a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN).
The idea of this site is to share gained expertise (both the primary author’s and that of her colleagues) with the public in an open forum environment that is a virtual “classroom without walls” accessible to all.
With a strong background built over some five decades, the primary author’s background includes working as a seasoned clinician, consultant, educator (including full-time professor), presenter, author, researcher, program coordinator, consumer scientist (including recipe developer), advocate, counselor, coach, and mentor.
The primary author completed her Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) in Food and Nutrition at the University of Rhode Island. She completed her Dietetic Internship outside of Chicago at the former Lutheran General Hospital.
She earned her Master of Science Degree (M.S.) in Nutrition Science from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. She has completed numerous additional graduate courses in Nutrition Science and in Education and is always learning, availing herself of numerous continuing education opportunities.
